ChessivityChallenge I played a chess tournament in Malta a few years ago. It was the first day, and my wife had kindly offered to pick me up after my game. When she arrived, I was in the middle of an opposite-colored bishop endgame against an elderly gentleman who had already offered me a draw several times. But I could still see some practical chances, so naturally, I declined and kept playing. The game went on. And on. And on. Almost six hours in total. Meanwhile, my wife had found a quiet corner of the playing hall and eventually fell asleep. At some point, another player actually went over to her to check whether everything was okay. When I finally finished, my wife made one thing very clear: That was the first — and the last — time she was ever going to pick me up from a chess tournament. To be fair, I did win the game. So the question remains: was it worth it? My wife would probably say no. 😅♟️ #ChessivityChallenge #chessivity
