Child Safety Standards

The German-language version is the authoritative version. An English-language version may additionally be provided; in the event of any discrepancies, the German-language version shall prevail.

These are the published Child Safety Standards of Chessivity. They apply to the Chessivity platform, including the Chessivity website and the Chessivity Android app on Google Play, operated by Chessivity FlexCo.

Chessivity prohibits Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE), including Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

This page is a supplementary community rule under the Terms of Use § 17. It specifies the existing prohibition in Terms § 13.2(b). It does not replace the Terms. If anything here conflicts with the Terms, the Terms prevail. The German-language Terms are authoritative.

1. What is prohibited

CSAE means child sexual abuse and exploitation: content or behaviour that sexually exploits, abuses or endangers children (minors under 18). That includes, for example:

• Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): any visual depiction of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, including photos, videos and computer-generated imagery;
• grooming a child for sexual exploitation;
• sextorting a child;
• trafficking of a child for sex; or
• otherwise sexually exploiting a child.

Users may not create, upload, share, solicit or link to such content, or use Chessivity to engage in such behaviour. This is already prohibited under Terms § 13.2(b) and is illegal under applicable law, including Austrian criminal law.

2. Minimum age

Use of Chessivity is permitted only for persons who are at least 14 years old (Terms § 4.3). Chessivity may request confirmation of age and may suspend or delete accounts if there are specific indications that a person does not meet the age requirements (Terms § 4.6).

3. How to report

You can report CSAE, CSAM or other child-safety concerns:

• in the Chessivity app or website, use the report function on a post, comment, message or conversation (Terms § 19); or
• by email to legal@chessivity.com.

A report should, where possible, describe the content and where it can be found (Terms § 19.3). The report function and email are the channels for CSAE and CSAM. For other enquiries you may use the contact form.

You may also report CSAM directly to law enforcement or to Stopline, the Austrian INHOPE hotline.

4. What Chessivity does

Chessivity is generally not required to review all content before publication (Terms § 18.2).

When we obtain actual knowledge of CSAE or CSAM, we take appropriate action in accordance with the Terms and applicable law. That may include immediate removal of content and restriction, suspension or deletion of accounts, including in urgent cases without a prior hearing (Terms § 18.4 and § 18.6).

Where required by applicable law, Chessivity reports confirmed CSAM or other serious child-safety offences to the competent authorities or the relevant regional hotline. For Chessivity as an Austrian operator, that means the competent Austrian authorities and, where appropriate, Stopline. We may retain reports and related data where required for security, evidentiary or legal purposes (see also Terms § 24.4 and the Privacy Policy).
